Rumble Fighter - (Re)-Review

Rumble Fighter (RF) is a multiplayer online fighting game developed by Nimonix and hosted by OGPlanet. It features an anime visual style along with easy controls and tons of action. While it’s being marketed as a simple and kid friendly game, the combat has a lot more going for it beyond simple button bashing. As an old veteran player, I was more than eager to return to the world of RF and see if it still had some moves left in it.

Cabal Online - Review

From the second generation of online gaming, MMORPGs featuring hack & slash action were very rare due to programming limitations. Among one of those rare gems was Cabal Online, created by South Korean developer ESTsoft. It was described as “The Revolution of Action”, claiming to contain a mix between MMORPG and hack & slash gameplay, along with dazzling graphics and challenging quests to keep players interested.

That was all back in 2006. In 2012 where action MMOs are more common, and with Cabal 2 on the way, it’s time to revisit Cabal Online and see if all the claims still hold true.

Play Log - TERA (NA) - CBT3 Weekend

With another closed beta test for TERA coming up, I fell like putting up another one of my super amazing play logs for you all to gander at. During CBT3: I joined up with a nice, little social guild called Amity. This guild emphasizes casual play and just enjoying the ride rather than racing towards the level cap. I usually don't join guilds due to the heavy amounts of e-drama that they seem to attract, but I made an exception for this group.

Our guild is currently on Serpent's Isle server. We may be switching over to the RP server during Open Beta, though (even though none of us intend to do some legitimate roleplaying, but most of us would really like the atmosphere.)

Age of Guns - Full-on ripoff action!

Now here's something that I found incredibly amusing: While checking out cinderboy's MMO Culture Facbook page, he made a news post regarding a new third-person shooter being published by Tencent Games (China). From the concept art that was posted with the news post, many of us thought it was from MAIET's upcoming GunZ: The Second Duel, which wouldn't have been too surprising since Tencent Games has many high profile titles on lock, including Blade & Soul, ArcheAge and many others.

Later on, Cinderboy revealed that the game was in fact NOT GunZ 2, but instead it was a new "original" IP created by Chinese game dev studio 'Jade Studio". He also mentions that the game also contains MOBA elements and looks more like TF2 than GunZ. Curious to learne more about this, I did a bit of searching and this is what I found:

Well... It sure does look like GunZ, as well as many other things. From this teaser trailer alone, I spotted more ripped off action scenes from several other games and movies. How many can YOU spot?

Spirit Tales - Preview

X-LEGEND, the creators behind Grand Fantasia and Eden Eternal are working with Koramgame on their cutest MMORPG yet: Sprit Tales (also known as Glory Destiny Online.)

I was completely on the fence about giving this game a try. The cuteness factor seemed to be the only thing going for it, but since I’m a complete sucker for cute things, I succumbed to my weakness and gave it a try.
