OnRPG - 1st Podcast

So here it is: That thing I was talking about before with the recording and all that. A podcast! DizzyPW of OnRPG decided launch a podcast series on YouTube, and me along with JamesBl0nde, Hhean and DizzyPW himself would be the members of the show.

I was quite excited about the whole Podcast thing, so excited that I keep stumbling over my words. Next time, I'll make sure to slow down and pace myself. The topic of discussion was pretty much all about TERA (NA): the launch of the game, political systems in TERA/MMOs and the release of the 'premium shop' for TERA (NA).

Overall: The discussion was great and I'm looking forward to the next one. By that time, I hope I'll have a better mic to use (seriously, JamesBl0nde's mic is so crystal clear... I need it!)

Just an update - 9/2/2011

Feeling kind of bored... So hey, why don't I update my blog with more crap?
Anyway, the consistency of me updating my blog hasn't been so great, and it's gonna be even more inconsistent now that college is back in motion. Packing up to head back to Stockton this Monday, but it seems housing is going to stick me in a hotel for the entire semester.
The hotel actually sounds kinda nice, but I'm not too fond of the hotel being five miles away from campus, meaning I have to take a shuttle bus in the morning and stick around the place until the day over.

Oh but who cares about that stuff, anyway?!

I've really been getting into playing Mabinogi, recently. I don't know why, but I can't seem to get enough of it. Bought a premium Elf and Giant card but haven't been leveling them to much. My main focus is on my basic human character. I think I'm half way through my G1 quests, but god damn it's soooooooooo lonnnnnnnnngggggg. I'm really gonna need some help through these, so if anyone is playing Mabinogi on the Mari server, message me or something...

IGN: Rahzell

Speaking of which: DizzyPW over at OnRPG asked me to do a review on Mabinogi, as well as beta impressions on Brawl Busters. Managed to nail those articles out before the month ended, so expect those sometime next week.

Last thing I'd like to mention: DizzyPW is heading over to Taiwan to attend Gamania's personal own gaming press conference to highlight some of their upcoming titles.

I'm a little anxious to see what Dizzy gets to check out there, mainly because they'll be showcasing Tiara Concerto Online. I've had my eye on this one because it has slutty native American catgirls with duel-wielding pistols what seems to be some nice action based gameplay infused with music, though I haven't seen much of the musical inspired part.

Overall, it looks nice and has the potential to NOT suck and be another generic grindfest.

That's all I feel like posting for now. Go away.

Status update - 07/19/2010

Time for another one of these posts.

Here's whats on the table for me this week: Today I'm trying out Alien Swarm, a top-down arcade style shooter that's been released by Valve for free. It was made by the same mod team that created the Alien Swarm mod for Unreal Tournament 2004. It looks like a great time waster so I'll definitely be playing it. That is, if I can actually get the download started...

Status update - 07/14/2010

Looks like I'm gonna be busy as a beaver for the next couple of weeks! I just went through a product tour for Hero: 108 Online, a quirky action MMO based on a cartoon with the same name. The game seems... decent. Nothing that's gonna make you wanna quit WoW, of course. The game seemed very tailored to fans of the show and casual gamers. My product tour should be up soon, but also expect a preview article afterwards.

I got set up with another product tour with another MMO title I've been waiting for called Soul Master. It mixes arcade action with RTS and MMORPG features. Such an interesting mix of genres, indeed. Can't wait to play it. Games that are also on my waiting list include FreeJack, that online racing game based on Parkour/Free Running with a Jet Set Radio vibe. The closed beta test SHOULD be sometime this month, but no announcements have been made yet. There's also closed beta for Vindictus

Now that Alaplaya has publishing rights for S4 League in US territories, I can take my S4 League review off hiatus.

That's about it. No scheduled gaming for me this week.

Status update - 06/27/2010

It's that time, again! My plans for the week! I've been playing lots of new games in closed beta this weekend and whatnot. I got to try out Fists of Fu which is pretty neat (for a Chinese Elsword ripoff.) I've also been playing Genesis A.D., an online FPS title. It's SOOOO much fun! A real great throwback to twitch based shooting.

Anyway: I got a tour set for a new MMO called "Hero: 108 Online". It's based off a cartoon show on Cartoon Network with the same name. Honestly, it looks OK. Nothing amazing, but looks good enough to hold the attention of its target audience.

Oh look... It's another one of THESE posts...

Time for another update: I'm still playing Cosmic Break and I'm currently writing up a preview article for it. I mentioned that I wanted to do a review, but with the current state the game is in, giving it a review would be a bit unjust since cash shop items are available with in-game money and lots of mech parts aren't available yet. I figured I'll wait for the re-release in July before giving it a review.

Status update - 06/13/2010

Hello, everyone. I've been having way too much fun last week and it's actually been getting in the way of my writing! I'll be playing Cosmic Break made by CyberStep. It's a strangely addictive multiplayer online mech shooting game. The graphics are very retro, like an old N64 game. The battles are incredibly hectic and fun. My only grip I have with the game are the imbalance of players on each union. WIZ and DOS seem to outnumber BRD (my union) 3 to 1. Plus there are a lot of players on my union that don't know how to play very well. But no matter... Those players will get kicked into shape soon enough.

Dungeon Fighter Online - Official Launch Interview

My first article for OnRPG.com got uploaded!

It's all pretty exciting for me. I feel like a real somebody now!
Looking at it a bit more, I think I could of asked some better questions here and there. And I'm actually kinda glad that different pictures were used (since the ones I included kinda sucked.)

All in all, I'm overall happy of how it came out.

Hey, everyone. If those haven't been looking at my twitter page for updates (it's right in the top right hand corner of this page, you know!), I thought I'd like to take a moment to post a little bit of what projects I have going for me this week OnRPG.com:

New contributer for OnRPG.com, here!

This is just so fantastic. My trial articles are good to go and I'm officially a full member contributor for OnRPG.com! I can't believe that I have been given this opportunity. And to think that this all started with a little college assignment for my Media Writting II class! Well that and some inspiration from another gamer's great MMO blog: www.mmoculture.blogspot.com. Thanks, cinderboy!)

Now I've been going on about this for awhile during my trial phase with them and have been talking about this over and over to just about everyone I know. I already mentioned a lot of my thoughts about this on messages boards so I'll just repeat what I've already said a million times over:
